Community Giveback

There are so many worthwhile charities and it would be great to be able to contribute to all of them, but unfortunately this is just not practical. We meet at the beginning of the year and with a great deal of difficulty we narrow our choices to a few. It is our honor and privilege to do whatever we can to give back to our community.

Two of our employees have family members who need the facilities of Ronald McDonald House. One of whom visits Ronald McDonald House every six months for treatment. Realizing the importance of supporting such a worthwhile cause we held a fabulous bowling fundraiser and thanks to the generosity of our employees and friends we raised over $4500.

Caritas is a non-profit organization whose main goal is to stamp out hunger in the Stateline Area. We are proud to partner with them in attempting to provide the basics for those in our community in need. This year we raised over $500 for the Feinstein Challenge which matched the funds raised. We are also planning Thanksgiving and Christmas fundraisers to help provide holiday meals for needy families.

We all know someone who is touched by heart disease in some form or another and because of this we are participating in the Beloit/Rock County Heart Walk on Saturday, August 26. Mid-States is contributing at the $1500 level which is called Friend of Heart Sponsor Level. Our efforts to raise money are ongoing and we are anticipating a large turnout at the walk.

The Salvation Army is an organization that does tremendous good in the community for those who are truly in need of food, clothing and often a place to stay. We do a small part throughout the year to support the Beloit facility with emphasis around the holidays. Our employees participate in food drives and specific fundraisers for the Salvation Army.
